What a wall-hung toilet needs
- A concealed cistern and frame. The frame carries the bowl, and the cistern sits hidden behind the wall.
- A false wall. The frame is enclosed by a built-up wall in front of the existing one, which takes up a little depth in the bathroom.
- Access to the cistern. The flush plate usually lifts off so the cistern parts can be reached for servicing.
- A renovation. Since tiles are involved, this is best done during a bathroom renovation. In a new HDB flat, the bathroom tiles stay in place for the first 3 years.
