Kitchen Sink Taps and Mixers: Questions We Get Asked
Is a pull-out spray kitchen mixer worth it?
If you wash large pots or rinse the whole sink often, yes. A pull-out spray lets you bring the water to where you need it and switch between a normal stream and a shower spray.
Which kitchen mixer suits a sink under a window?
Choose a compact mixer with a low spout, or a model designed for window installation that can be laid flat when the window opens, such as the Hansgrohe Talis M52.
What does the WELS rating mean for kitchen taps?
Under PUB's Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme, a 3-tick sink tap or mixer flows at 4 litres per minute or less, and a 2-tick one flows at more than 4 up to 6 litres per minute.
What is a 2-hole kitchen mixer?
A 2-hole mixer places the spout and the control separately on the sink or worktop. It gives a cleaner look around the spout and more flexible placement of the control.
Is there a full guide to kitchen sinks and taps?
Yes. Our kitchen sink guide covers choosing the sink and the tap to go with it, and our WELS guide explains the water efficiency ticks.
